What is Speech Therapy?
Communication and language difficulties are addressed through speech-language therapy. It can enhance the social, nonverbal, and vocal communication skills of those with autism. The main objective is to assist the individual in communicating in a more practical and efficient manner.
Individual differences exist in the obstacles associated with speech and communication. Some people with autism spectrum disorders are nonverbal. Some people enjoy conversing, but they find it hard to maintain a conversation or read other's facial emotions and body language.
Here, in Auesome Kids Behavioural Services, our team of experts in speech-language pathology (SLP), evaluates the child at the start of a speech treatment programme to determine the child's communication strengths and weaknesses. Based on this assessment, the SLP formulates personalised treatment objectives.
